For a while I have intended to go along and photograph this pub as it illuminates really well at night. Sadly last night it illuminated for all the wrong reasons as a fire extensively damaged this old 13th century building. Fire appliances were still in attendance this morning as investigations were continuing into the cause of the fire. The new extension for the restaurant is apparently undamaged, so there is hope that the building can be reopened once renovated. It’s not going to be a Happy Christmas though for the landlord and owners, here’s hoping they get back running soon.
